Mays Landing's Cardboard Boat Race will take place Saturday, July 19, 2025 (Rain Date 🌧️ Sunday, July 20) at The Cove at Lake Lenape, Mays Landing, NJ. The entry cost is for registering a cardboard boat to participate in a race. There are 3 races:
• The Youth Division (Ages 5–13) — $25
• The Adult Division (Ages 14+) — $30
• The All-Ages Division — $30
Spectating this event is free, and there is no per-person cost.

1. Boats must be made of only cardboard and duct tape. (No glue, plastic, wax, staples, clamps, screws, flex seal, flex tape, resin, etc.)
2. Boats may only be propelled by oars, paddles, or sails. These may be made from any material, and can either be homemade or store-bought.
3. You may decorate your boat with any material, but decorations cannot help keep the boat together or afloat.
4. All boat designs, decorations, and themes must remain PG-13— this is a family-friendly event.
5. Any boat found to contain prohibited materials (or themes) will be disqualified.
6. Any boat deemed "unsafe" during inspection will not be allowed to race.
7. All boats and ship wrecks, remains, & debris must be removed from the water when the race is finished. Each crew is responsible for their own boat/shipwreck.
8. Any boat in the Youth or Adult Divisions may also enter in the All-Ages Division for an additional entry fee.
